Schedule Change by Jessica Sjoroos and Trevor Pfaff

If you are one of those people who has been wondering what’s going on with our new schedule, we’re here to tell you. The Next Generation Plan was passed four years ago, and it states that we had to have weekly advisory. With our old schedule we weren’t accommodating it by having it week on week off with enrichment/ endorsement.
Another big reason for changes was to have a matching schedule with Thunder Mountain so that teachers could teach at both schools and students could remain at one school and still take classes at the other. So now we have a compromised schedule, Thunder Mountain really liked they’re extension periods, while we like our enrichment so now we have a day for each.
Our schedule is supposed to be Tuesday for advisory, Wednesday for Enrichment, Thursday for endorsement/ extension. In case you don’t know, extension is when people who are struggling with a certain subject has to go with all the teachers of that subject and get help.
Endorsement is was supposed to be students taking responsibility and going to their teachers and asking what they need to do for graduation endorsements. (i.e. Jocs and Docs, Honors, Humanities) They might change it to actually being an endorsement day Thursday instead of enrichment.
Next we went around and asked a few people if they think everyone uses advisory, and if they personally used it to their own advantage. Or if they like in it general.
Eli Keston, “No, the only thing I like about it is how easy it is to ditch. But some people use it for school uses I guess, every once in a while I go get caught up. Most of the time I’m just long boarding.”
Tempest Smith, “I know I use enrichment to do ceramics make ups. I’m sure a majority of people sit around in the classes and the commons doing nothing though.
Mr. Alsup , “I like it, I’ve always been around it. Every school I’ve taught at or attended has had it. I think it’s good for those students who are out for sports or other activities. Its a good time to make up missed work.”
Mr. Staley, “No not everyone’s using it, but that’s with most things. Hopefully in the future students will go and take iniative to help themselves by talking to teachers and getting help with materials that they don’t understand, even if they’ve moved on from the topic.”
Mrs.Germain, “i like it, its looser its good with the freshmen kids are working and its helping, it helps alot with sports and if your gone at all”
Mr.Hopkins, “No Comment”
Jake Bicknell, “It’s stupid, they should change it back. I normally just leave campus.”
Travis Duvernay, “It’s gayer then aids.”
Erlito Samonte, “It’s poopy, I feel rushed when classes are shorter.”
Demetrius Campos, “I hate it, I goof off.”
Randi Held, Savannah Cayce, Addie Ramonda, “We like how classes are shorter, but miss our long lunches.”
Brandi Hall, “It’s dumb.”
Taylor Vidic, “Advisory is worthless, but enrichment is nice because it gives you an extra 40 minutes in the day to get done the homework you didn’t do the night before or just take a really long lunch. Also the classes you missed for travel, it gives you an opportunity to get help from teachers over materials you missed.

What Football is to Me

Some people say that football is just a sport that people just hit eachother as hard as they can. Then there are people that have a passion for the sport like I do. Football is a sport that can come out of nowhere, in my opinion it just seems like out of all the sports out there football is the one that you can have just one person do a little thing wrong and then the game is over and you lose.
It's a sport that pushes your body, mind and just works everything. I love the times in football when you dont know what is going to happen. Something good or bad could happen in the nexts two seconds or maybe nothing will happen in the next two hours. Football is just a passion for me because when it is over and whether you won or lost you can say you gave  everything your all, and wouldn't ever take it back. Football is just a sport that you have to love like I do to know exactly what I'm talking about.

Michael Collings - Britain's Got Talent 2011 Audition - itv.com/talent

You know when you are watching YouTube and just looking for something funny? Well, one night I was on YouTube and somehow ended up with the videos from Britain's Got Talent. I clicked on this one and all I can remember is looking at it going this guy is going to be really funny.

Once he walked out on the stage and they asked him what he wanted to do and he said, "sell albums" all I thought was is he joking. Then he sat down and there was a silence, nothing was happening and right when he hit the first note on the guitar all I could think about was is how good he really is. I just kept saying how this wasn't happening. Next he started singing and my mouth dropped. I got up and ran to my mom, showed it to her and when it was over she had nothing to say except, "I just found the new John Mayer".

All I could think about was how inspiring he was. This video showed me a lot, like what they really mean by never judge a book by its cover, and to never give up on a dream. Even if it will take forever to do and when you set your mind to something you can make it happen no matter how hard it is.

what I learned

Remember the laughs,
Remember the smiles,
Remember the times we had for a while.
Remember the good,
Remember the bad,
Remember the love that we once had.
Remember with a smile,
Remember with a tear,
Remember the times you held me in fear.
Remember the kisses,
Remember the hugs,
Whatever you do don’t forget us.

This is what I have Learned is that words aren't just letters on a piece of paper. That they all have some way of giving you a meaning or just a memory. This past semester has been full of all sorts of adventures, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next one.

Remembering...

I used Mark Twain quotes because I can see how they are true. Quotes are perfect to read because people can really relate to them and they never get old. The thing that I love most about quotes is that they all say something so simple and short that  you think  it's weird that you have never thought of such a simple thing.

If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

-Mark Twain

When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it happened or not.

Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
